The Drumdrops Kontakt 5 Interface - Kit Page

March 18 2013 – Drumdrops Admin

Here is a sneak preview of the forthcoming Drumdrops Kontakt 5 Interface Kit page. The kit shown is the first of seven in the pipeline. The kit is a Vintage 1963 Premier Outfit 54 Kit. A very similar kit to the Premier kit used by Ringo Starr in the early 60s. This classic sounding 60s kit consists of a 20" x 14" Bass Drum, 5.5" x 14"  Snare, a wonderfully deep 16" x 16" Floor Tom and a 12" x  8" Rack Tom. The cymbals consist of 14" Zildjian New Beat Hi-Hats, a 22" Zildjian K Custom Medium Ride and two Zildjian Crashes. An 18" K Dark Thin Crash and a 16" vintage Cie Crash. If you want a 60’s drum sound then you need to start with a 60’s Kit.

We have added a few features to our kit page. Firstly, you can unload or load individual drums from Kontakt. This is a really useful tool to help control the amount of memory you are using in Kontakt. As you unload a drum, the image of the drum or cymbal will be greyed out.

You can change the tuning of the individual drums. Select the Instrument to tune and then just use the pot to tune the drum up or down in 10 cent steps.

The other feature we have added to the kit page is the ability to change the velocity curves of each drum or all the drums. This is an incredibly useful feature if you want to make the kit, or any individual drum, appear as if it is playing softer or louder. There are three preset curves to choose from or you can draw your own curve using the custom preset.

That’s it for the Kit page. Next up the Settings page…
